Google can reorder search and news results from the last day, week, a few months, or entire year by adding a small string to the end of the search URL. Just add this string—
&as_qdr=d
—to the address bar and hit enter. You’ll get a custom drop-down box that lets you re-order results based on date.
This is pretty cool. This laptop uses touchscreen holographic technology for its display (or the closest thing we have to it). The screen is totally transparent until power is turned on.
I ordered a laptop from TIGER DIRECT (tigerdirect.com) on Dec. 22nd and purchased 2nd Day Air through UPS. This was the biggest mistake of my life. The package did not arrive until Dec. 28th at 1:30pm. That is almost a week. I contacted the CFO of SYSTEMAX (Tiger Direct’s parent company), but he said that he was out of the country and would have to forward me on to someone else. No one from corporate contacted me. I filled out three online forms for help and used their online chat tool, but got no where. Then I sent an email to the SVP/COO at UPS. He was a little bit nicer, because he actually had someone contact me from their corporate office (Maureen). I have been dealing with Maureen for the past four days but have not gotten any closer to solving the issue. Both companies’ continue to point fingers at the other company. Maureen explained that they only pickup at certain times and have an agreement with Tiger Direct to pickup in some sort of locked trailer. Apparently, according to her, Tiger Direct did not have the package in the trailer. Tiger Direct explained that it’s the shippers fault because they only pickup on Monday-Friday. The problem is that I paid for a service that I did not get, which is a breach of contract. The reason I do not believe all the smoke and mirrors, is that I have the emails to prove that I ordered it on 12/22/07 and that Tiger Direct said that they would be shipping it out on 12/23/07. I am not asking for something that I was not promised. UPS even had it posted for delivery on 12/27/07 at the latest, even though Tiger Direct said 12/26/07. Then UPS rescheduled the package for delivery. Sounds fishy to me. I believe that UPS did pickup the package, it got lost in their system and now they don’t want to pony up a refund. I even used UPS’s own online shipping calculator, and it said that it should arrive on 12/27/07. In conclusion, I would recommend not ordering anything from Tiger Direct or ordering from any online retailers that use UPS. They have both been very unhelpful and have a terrible customer service department. If you need computer supplies use NEWEGG.com. They are fast and friendly. I have never had any issues with them.
I found two websites that claim to be technology firms. The first one I found in a Digg article, but the other I just came across. These sites look like they were created in the 90’s and have not been updated since. WOW!
Well now you can. The card (aka Eye-Fi) is a SD memory card that has Wi-Fi built into it. This thing is stinking amazing. After a little programming, you just pop this thing into your camera and it will wirelessly, as long as you are within range of your router, upload the photos you take to 20 different web photo sites. It costs about $100.
These TVs are super thin and amazing looking. Funniez.net reports “Sony starts to sale their XEL-1 OLED TV ( 11in, 5mm thick, with resolution of 1,024 x 600) on 1
December. It uses eight-bit per channel RGB colour and have million-to-one contrast ratio.”
