Almost Exciting!

Digging into the couch-cushions of the internet!

About

Why We Write
Almost Exciting is a Collaborative “Blog” of the “Invite Only” type (if you’re following the Wikipedia definition). It began in 2006 as two people sending “interesting” links back and forth via email. As hilarity, general knowledge, and interest ensued they decided it would be easier (and more fun!) to store it all in one big, happy, search-able place, and share it all with the world.

Currently, Almost Exciting consists of only three official contributors (Almost George, monk, and Spartan) with others sending information and links regularly, and no plans on how long the number will remain at two.

What We Write About
We write about a lot of things, all of which are at least ‘almost exciting’ or interesting in some way. Sometimes it’s just a paragraph and a link. Sometimes less. This is just our collection of “hey, look at this” that we have and are gathering, and putting in one place.

Reading Almost Exciting is like digging through the couch-cushions of the internet. There’s lots of weird stuff in there, but sometimes it’s valuable.

Most often we write or comment about IT related news, a new gadget, and things concerning mostly the “geek culture”, although we’re well versed in “real life” and sunlight as well. You’ll also find links to things you might not have thought were on the internet - the strange, the weird-of-the-web.

We live somewhere in the artery walls of sites like Kottke’s Remaindered Links, Boingboing, and Lifehacker - but we promise to be original, and not simply regurgitate everything you’ve already read.

We talk about the IT Life - and a geeky world of different topics
pertaining to the most widely asked questions in the PC world, like, “how
does that cream filling get inside a twinkie?”
